In the direct sequel to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II, Captain Price and Task Force 141 face the ultimate threat. The ultranationalist war criminal Vladimir Makarov expands his grip across the world, forcing Task Force 141 to fight like never before. The fight requires choices - different loadouts, different paths through the mission. In addition to Call of Duty's cinematic Campaign missions, Modern Warfare III introduces Open Combat Missions that give players more freedom of choice. The 16 launch maps from Modern Warfare 2 (2009) have been modernized with new modes and gameplay features and will be available from day one, while more than 12 new 6v6 maps will roll out in post-launch seasons. Modern Warfare III will also launch with new Ground War maps featuring innovative play spaces, along with the epic return and evolution of the popular War Mode that debuted in Call of Duty 2017: WWII.
